The most wonderful time of the year is almost here. September and October were gone in the blink of an eye, and now we’re staring down holiday season with upcoming Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Christmas and New Year.
My family celebrates Christmas, and it is hands-down my favorite holiday. I think most would agree that it is simultaneously the most stressful holiday. Before the indulgent season of cocktails, cookies, cheeses of all forms, and decadent meals, it may be a good idea to show your body (and mind) some extra love. Here are some ideas for winter wellness healthy eating and living:
Cleanse and Reset: Guest Haus

The newly opened juicery and matcha shop focuses on ingredients that taste good and have significant nutritional benefits. Guest Haus offers juice cleanse bundles like the Immunity Pack, Recovery and Reset Pack, Beauty Pack, Altitude Rescue, and you can create your own bundle. Turmeric lattes help with inflammation, mushroom elixirs and drinks help with brain function, cacao is a healthier substitute for hot cocoa and the full coffee bar will help with any caffeine fix.
Sweat It Out: Park City Yoga Collective
Whether you’re an avid yogi or yoga-curious, PC Yoga Collective is a warm and welcoming environment. The classes are heated, so be prepared to sweat! The Collective holds an array of classes from slow flow and restorative to power vinyasa and yoga sculpt. A drop-in is only $15, so head in and sweat out some toxins for a better mind, body and soul.
Intentionally Created: Luna’s Kitchen
Luna’s is a haven for any gluten-sensitive or celiac eater. Aside from being an entirely gluten-free establishment, Luna’s focuses on grass-fed, naturally raised and locally sourced ingredients. The café and bakery have loads of vegetarian and vegan options as well. What’s even better is the flexibility of its menu; there are fresh options to grab for any meal, take-out options for the week ahead, and freezer meals for a hectic day where you need a satisfying and healthy meal.
Work(out) Hard, Spa Harder: Silver Mountain Sports Club & Spa
Silver Mountain has classes and facilities for cardio and toning and a spa for unwinding afterward. The spa features a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and it offers hair, nails, and massage services. Silver Mountain boasts a ginormous pool (open all year) for kiddos and adults to swim laps or tire the youngsters out. Guest and punch passes are available, as well as multi-tiered memberships to reap the benefits year-round.
Healthy Delivers: Mountain Wellness Bar

Recently reopened health gem is the Mountain Wellness Bar in Heber, which delivers gluten-free meals and has fresh foods a la carte. The meal delivery services menu changes every Thursday to ensure fresh and seasonal ingredients. The café menu has smoothies, bowls, soups, salads, snacks, and breakfast. Its menu is also vegan and vegetarian friendly, with plenty of options to mix it up.
Eat Well: Harvest
The popular health-food restaurant in Old Town expanded recently to serve even more healthy eaters. Harvest is a breakfast and lunch eatery, with a full coffee bar and daily juices. Since day one, the paleo banana bread has been on the menu, along with the Buddha Bowl and soft scrambled eggs. The salmon wellness bowl is a newer addition that is filling and delectable. Gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and vegetarian options are available.
