St. Regis Deer Valley hopes to cheers to serving its 300,000th bloody Mary sometime soon.

When we think “brunch,” we automatically think “bloody Mary.” It’s an iconic libation, standing out from the cocktail crowd with it’s heartiness and bold, punchy flavors. The Bloody Mary is also something of a blank canvas, and it’s no wonder that distinctive iterations of the classic can gain committed followers.

Such is the case at The St. Regis Deer Valley, where bartenders are gearing up to pour their 300,000th signature and most popular cocktail: the 7452 Bloody Mary. One of the world’s most luxurious mountain resorts, The St. Regis Deer Valley opened in November, 2009, and will celebrate its 15th anniversary this November. And what better way to celebrate than with the resort’s iconic drink?

The Iconic 7452 Bloody Mary

Named for the altitude of the resort, the vividly-hued 7452 consists of tomato juice, cornichon juice, Worcestershire, sriracha chili sauce and vodka and is topped with a light green froth made from celery juice, parsley, wasabi powder and green apple. The glass is rimmed with jet black Hawaiian sea salt and lime.

The spicy cocktail is so popular that 7452 Bloody Mary clinics are held at the Deer Valley Creative Academy to teach guests how to make the concoction, ensuring that they can enjoy it at home any time. Rob Dixon, master mixologist at The St. Regis Deer Valley, said, “The 7452 Bloody Mary is a standout and a favorite among hotel guests and visitors, always a year-round crowd-pleaser.  The black Hawaiian sea salt adds a smoky and pleasing punch to an excellent drink.”  The 7452 Bloody Mary is available at the St. Regis Bar, with its triptych mural that pays tribute to Park City’s mining history; the resort’s signature, award-winning RIME; al fresco on the Mountain Terrace under Park City’s cornflower blue skies; and during ski season at The Vintage Room, a completely clear and heated 1600 square-foot structure located on the resort’s ski “beach.”

Melissa Thomasma

In full rebellion against the unpredictable climate of the Rocky Mountains, you can find Melissa on her Teton Valley deck grilling any month of the year. Typically in flip flops. Snow, rain, wind… no weather is too fierce. She’s a lover of peaches in any form, has a borderline addiction to arugula, and (strangely) has been known to drizzle soy sauce on pizza. But even more than she loves her stand mixer and cast iron collection, she adores cooking for her husband and two kids. When this Jackson Hole native isn’t scurrying around her messy kitchen, she’s probably outside floating the river, hiking, camping, fishing, or, well… grilling.
